At a glance

We read

Meeting summaries and their details, read-only.

We store

Sign-in tokens and your plan. We don’t save summary text.

We keep it

Until you choose Delete data or remove the Zoom app.

You delete

Any time. It’s wiped right away.

What we read from Zoom

With your permission, Afterword uses read-only Zoom access to fetch:

  • Meeting summaries. The overview, next steps, and topic-by-topic notes created by Zoom AI Companion.
  • Meeting details. Topic, date, start time, duration, and meeting ID, so we can list meetings and name files.
  • Your Zoom profile. Id, email, and name.

Afterword never posts, edits, or deletes anything in your Zoom account. It does not access recordings, transcripts, chat, or contacts.

What we store

  • In your browser: settings, export options, and a cached list of meetings for the current range. This stays on your device.
  • On our servers (api.getafterword.com): encrypted Zoom and Google sign-in tokens, your Zoom user ID and email, and your plan status.
  • In Google Drive, on Pro: exported files, written only to the /Zoom Summaries folder. Afterword can only see files it created.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

How long we keep it

  • Summary text: we don’t save it. During a Drive sync it passes through only long enough to write the file.
  • Sign-in tokens: until you disconnect that service, choose Delete data, or remove the Zoom app. Disconnecting deletes that service’s tokens right away.
  • Account and plan status: until you choose Delete data or remove the Zoom app, then wiped right away. Stripe keeps its own payment records.
  • Inactive accounts: deleted after 12 months with no activity.

Deleting your data

Any of these works on its own:

  • Delete data in the app. Open the Account menu and choose Delete data. We wipe everything we hold right away.
  • Remove Afterword from Zoom. In the Zoom App Marketplace, go to Manage, then Added Apps, and remove Afterword. We wipe everything we hold right away.
  • Email us. Write to privacy@getafterword.com from your Zoom account’s address. We confirm deletion within 30 days.

Files you already exported stay in your Downloads folder or Google Drive. Delete them there if you no longer want them.

Who we share with

We don’t sell or rent your data, and we don’t use it for advertising or AI training. These providers help run Afterword:

  • Zoom, the source of your meeting summaries.
  • Google, for Drive sync, only if you connect it.
  • Stripe, for Pro payments.
  • Our hosting provider, which runs api.getafterword.com.
